2015 OneLove JamFest – May 9, 2015

The 2015 Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest is May 9, 2015 in Palm Harbor, FL.  Please join us in remembering Landon (gone at 17) by raising awareness about prescription drug abuse.  Our event raises money for NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) and the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts (Ruth Eckerd Hall).  OneLove JamFest features bands from the Tampa Bay area, silent auction, raffle, 50/50 and much more.  Mark your calendar for a great day of music, fun and community.

2014 NOPE Donation

NOPE 2014 Presentation Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest was honored to present to NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) a donation of $16,500 on July 27. NOPE reaches thousands of students and parents, in middle and high school across Pinellas County, through their impactful presentations that explain the dangers of prescription drug abuse and the sometimes unexpected fatal results. Recent CDC studies state that education is one of the factors that is reducing drug overdoses. NOPE’s education works, students listen. The JamFest donation also helps support the annual NOPE Candlelight Vigil, held in October, to remember those affected by addiction or the loss of a family member. Additionally, this year NOPE presented scholarships to 3 Pinellas County high school seniors attending college. Thank you to everyone that supports Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest efforts to raise this generous donation and helping NOPE continue their mission in our community.

This year’s recipient of the scholarship is a sophomore from Countryside High School and he will be taking vocal lessons. OneLove JamFest’s mission is to continue Landon’s love of music by helping the youth in our community pursue their love of music and the arts. This donation is possible because of the kind generosity of so many and we are forever grateful. Thank you.

Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest is honored to announce that over $23,000 was raised at this year’s 2014 event. Money will be donated to the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts and NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) Pinellas Task Force. This amazing goal would not have been possible without the support of many people and businesses in our community and across the US. OneLove JamFest’s mission is dedicated to remembering Landon Korabek’s life, his love for music and continuing our never ending endeavor to educate about the dangers of prescription drugs. We are so very grateful and thankful to all that support us. Mark your calendars now for next year’s OneLove JamFest – May 9, 2015.

2014 OneLove JamFest – Huge Success!

Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest 2014 – Wow! A terrific event and fundraiser to remember Landon. Thank you for the terrific turnout and support. There is no greater joy then seeing so many people come together to support NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) and the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts. All of the bands really played their hearts out as the crowd widely danced. Thanks to Steve Shabala, Guru2, Six Volt Rodeo, Horny Toads and Shenanigans and thank you for the surprising autographed guitar. Thanks to Dr. Sherry Showalter for kicking off this event with her spiritual wisdom and reminding us that Landon is always with us . A huge thanks to the Thirsty Marlin, Brian St. Arnold, the entire staff as you all did an amazing job servicing everyone that attended the event. Our ability to raise money would not be possible without the support of many, many businesses through their donations, program and t-shirt sponsorships. Please support these businesses! What makes this event run so smoothly is the help of so many volunteers; those that helped with set-up, selling tickets and tshirts, manning the silent auction table, selling balloons and 50/50 tickets, pulling raffle tickets and posting the winners, and so much more. Over 30 volunteers helped and we are so grateful. Finally, OneLove JamFest takes months of planning and coordination done by a committee of 8 people. They help with donations, marketing, event day planning, band engagement, basket assembly, program design and poster and shirt design. They give countless hours – thank you Kendra, Karen, Lori, Tanya, Shirley, Lis and Brenda. You ladies rock. Stay tuned for the final tally of what was earned from the event. Finally, talk to your children about the dangers of prescription drugs using Landon’s story as reality and truth that this can happen to them. OneLove.
