2014 Scholarship Donation to Ruth Eckerd Hall
On June 13, 2014, OneLove JamFest was honored to present a check to Ruth Eckerd Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts for $6,500 for the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship. This money goes towards sponsoring scholarship music lessons for young students. This year’s recipient of the scholarship is a sophomore from Countryside High School and he will be taking vocal lessons. OneLove JamFest’s mission is to continue Landon’s love of music by helping the youth in our community pursue their love of music and the arts. This donation is possible because of the kind generosity of so many and we are forever grateful. Thank you.
Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest is honored to announce that over $23,000 was raised at this year’s 2014 event. Money will be donated to the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts and NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) Pinellas Task Force. This amazing goal would not have been possible without the support of many people and businesses in our community and across the US. OneLove JamFest’s mission is dedicated to remembering Landon Korabek’s life, his love for music and continuing our never ending endeavor to educate about the dangers of prescription drugs. We are so very grateful and thankful to all that support us. Mark your calendars now for next year’s OneLove JamFest – May 9, 2015.
Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest 2014 – Wow! A terrific event and fundraiser to remember Landon. Thank you for the terrific turnout and support. There is no greater joy then seeing so many people come together to support NOPE (Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education) and the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at Marcia P Hoffman School of the Arts. All of the bands really played their hearts out as the crowd widely danced. Thanks to Steve Shabala, Guru2, Six Volt Rodeo, Horny Toads and Shenanigans and thank you for the surprising autographed guitar. Thanks to Dr. Sherry Showalter for kicking off this event with her spiritual wisdom and reminding us that Landon is always with us . A huge thanks to the Thirsty Marlin, Brian St. Arnold, the entire staff as you all did an amazing job servicing everyone that attended the event. Our ability to raise money would not be possible without the support of many, many businesses through their donations, program and t-shirt sponsorships. Please support these businesses! What makes this event run so smoothly is the help of so many volunteers; those that helped with set-up, selling tickets and tshirts, manning the silent auction table, selling balloons and 50/50 tickets, pulling raffle tickets and posting the winners, and so much more. Over 30 volunteers helped and we are so grateful. Finally, OneLove JamFest takes months of planning and coordination done by a committee of 8 people. They help with donations, marketing, event day planning, band engagement, basket assembly, program design and poster and shirt design. They give countless hours – thank you Kendra, Karen, Lori, Tanya, Shirley, Lis and Brenda. You ladies rock. Stay tuned for the final tally of what was earned from the event. Finally, talk to your children about the dangers of prescription drugs using Landon’s story as reality and truth that this can happen to them. OneLove.

If you love pizza and wings, you’ll love Anthony’s Coal Fired Pizza. Their pizza is fantastic and they cook their wings in the coal fired oven as well – they are outstanding. Every Wednesday in April (5 Wed this year!), Anthony’s is donating 20% of the their sales to OneLove JamFest. It’s easy, just tell your server that you are dining to support OneLove and Anthony’s takes care of the rest. This is good for dine in or take out. Proceeds benefit the Landon Korabek music scholarship at Ruth Eckerd Hall and Narcotics Overdose Prevention and Education (NOPE) of Pinellas. Location: McMullen Booth and Enterprise next to Carmel Café and Bessa Grill.

The commitment and purpose behind the Landon Korabek OneLove JamFest is to raise awareness about the dangers of prescription drug abuse specifically with students and parents. In 2013, Susan and Greg Korabek were nominated and chosen as Bay News 9 weekly hero. On March 19, 2014, they were recognized as the Education Hero of the Year by Bay News 9 – one of 7 awards presented. We share this award with everyone that supports OneLove Jamfest, NOPE and the Landon Korabek Music Scholarship at the Marcia P. Hoffman institute. Together we are all helping to save lives.

The 2014 OneLove JamFest planning is underway and we are searching for volunteers to help us in a couple of different areas.
We are looking for people who can help the day of JamFest with selling T-shirts, raffle tickets, 50/50 tickets, monitoring raffle tables and assisting with our silent auction table. We will be holding at least 2 meetings to go over all of the information to make sure you are comfortable in your “job position”.
We are also seeking volunteers to go out in the community to solicit donations for our raffle baskets and silent auctions as well as market/promote the event. This is essential in making Jamfest a HUGE success!!
If interested in volunteering, please contact Kendra Pilson at Kendra@onelovejamfest.org.
